He is best known for his lead roles in Knight Rider and in Baywatch. After the first release of Baywatch in 1989, it was not so successful. There were problems with Baywatch according to NBC. They actually cancelled the show after one season. Hasselhoff believed that Baywatch had potential so he ended up funding its production. It re-released in 1991. It is really funny to know that despite being one of the executive producers and leading stars in Baywatch, David does not know how to swim. David Hasselhoff's decision to fund Baywatch, act in it, and produce it ended up to being a huge success. He receives royalties from Baywatch and not surprisingly, Baywatch made another ten seasons. Right now, Baywatch is already in the Guiness Book of Records. It has aired in over one hundred and forty countries worldwide. It is the most watched television show on the planet with over a billion viewers. If David's wealth were to be amassed from royalties and sales then his wealth would be over one hundred million dollars already. David is a member of the Lutheran Church. He graduated high school from the Lyons Township High School in Illinois. David was married to actress Catherine Hickland from March 24, 1984 to March 1, 1989. David Hasselhoff got married again on December 9, 1989 to actress Pamela Bach. They have two daughters, Taylor Ann Hasselfhoff who was born on May 5, 1990 and Hayley Hasselhoff who was born on August 26, 1992. On January 13, 2006, Hasselhoff wanted to get divorced to Pamela due to irreconcilable differences. Pamela is now seeking sole custody of the two daughters.
