Biography
David Duval was born on November 9, 1971 at Florida. He is the son of Bob Duval. David stands six feet tall or one hundred and eighty three centimeters. He now resides in Denver, Colorado. David graduated from the Episcopal High School of Jacksonville. Right from the very beginning, Duval's talent in golf was already evident. He won the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship back in 1989. His amateur career continued at Georgia Tech. He became a four time All American, a two time ACC Player of the Year, and the National Player of the Year in 1993.
In 1995, after only two years on the Nike Tour, David was able to earn his PGA Tour Card. Throughout David's golfing career, he has accomplished a lot. He was first place in the 2001 Open Championship. He was second place during the Masters in 2001. He was tied for second place at the Masters in 1998. He was tied for third place during the Masters in 2000. He was tied for sixth during the Masters in 1999. He was tied for seventh during the U.S. Open in 1998 and 1999. He was tied for eighth during the U.S. Open in 2000. He was tied for tenth at the PGA Championship in 1999 and in 2001.
He received the Byron Nelson Award in 1998. He received the Vardon Trophy in 1998. He got the PGA Tour Money Winner also in 1998. David has also participated in other golf tournaments aside from the tournament held by the PGA Tour. In 1998, he was part of the Fred Meyer Challenge. He played alongside Jim Furyk. In 1999, he played with Fred Couples at the Franklin Templeton Shark Shootout. In 2000, he played with Tiger Woods at the WGC World Cup. In 2001, he participated in the Japan Golf Tour at the Dunlop Phoenix.
