David William Duchovny was born on August 7, 1960 in New York. His father was a Jewish writer while his mother was a Scottish teacher. This background game him a very strong inclination in academics, especially with regards to words. David Duchovny has a good grasp of French and Latin. He is also familiar with Hebrew. Duchovny went to the Collegiate School for Boys in New York. He finished his undergraduate degree at Princeton University. David Duchovny is also one of the few actors who hold a Master's degree in English Literature. He almost finished a doctorate although he quit before accomplishing his thesis.
