David Blaine was born on April 4, 1973 in New York. His father was half Puerto Rican and half Spanish while his mother was of Jewish and Russian origin. He went to the Passaic Valley High School in New Jersey. He graduated in the year 1991. David Blaine is best known for his magical performances. David Blaine's magic started on the street. What he would do when he was starting out was bring a camera crew along with him when he was performing on the street. While on the street, his most famous tricks were about playing cards, levitation, and even bringing a dead fly back to life. These street tricks were aired on television specials. He had television specials namely David Blaine: Street Magic, David Blaine: Magic Man, and David Blaine: Mystifier. The charm of Blaine's magic came from the unsuspecting reactions from passing pedestrians. When you get caught off guard on the street, you are simply going to be amazed because you have no idea what's going to happen. One of his most shocking magic antics was at the Last Call with Carson Daily. He pretended to pull out his heart and faint. Although this segment was staged, it was not aired because a lot of people were in shock. Another popular trick done by Blaine was to be completely submerged under water over a week. This was done in front of the Lincoln Center. Food was passed through to him in the form of tubes. He had to go through a diet before attempting the seven day seven night submersion. When he urinated, he had to use some condom like structure. Just like any magicians career, Blaine has gotten a lot of criticism for his tricks and antics.
