Dave Mustaine was born on September 13, 1961 in California. He grew up in the suburbs of California. He is a guitarist and a songwriter. He has been the guitarist for Megadeth and Metallica. Dave is one of the people who rockers consider the pioneer of thrash metal and speed metal. One of the things that bothered Dave's career was drugs and alcohol. He was known to be outright crazy and drunk. His fellow band members also drank but they were not as wasted as Dave. Dave was always wasted and this became a problem for the bands he played for. There was one incident where Dave put beer into the guitar of their bassist. When the bassist woke up and tried playing the guitar, he got an electric shock and was blown across the room. These antics of Dave really made his band mates irritated. While Dave was playing for Metallica, there was one time that he crashed their car while he was drunk driving. His band members simply got fed up with him and they asked him to leave. The manager also agreed to this decision. This decision was one of the hardest decisions that Metallica ever made. A lot of controversies surrounded the exit of Mustaine from Metallica because he was really a great guitarist. The band and Mustaine refuse to elaborate more on this incident and they say that the public should simply "let sleeping dogs lie." After his stint with Metallica, Dave went on to join the band Megadeath. The guy who replaced Mustaine in Metallica was Kirk Hammett from Exodus. Later in Dave's career, he suffered an injury in his left hand and arm which held him from being able to play the guitar once again. Since then, Dave has considered various businesses in the music industry like production and sales of equipment.
