Darin Zanyar hails from the country of Sweden. He was born on June 2, 1987. He has a Kurdish background and he speaks Sorani. Darin lives outside of Stockholm, in Vallingby. At such a young age, Darin was already able to achieve so many things. The most important part of his career so far happened during the Swedish Idol, which he joined in 2004. He sang a lot of pop songs during this time. He had a special talent and a special aura for singing these kinds of songs. He sang "God must have spent a little more time with you" and "It's gon'na be me" by N'Sync. He sang "When I fall in Love," "Stand by me," "I don't wan'na miss a thing," "Show me the meaning of being lonely," "Didn't we almost have it all," and "Show me heaven" during the contest. A lot of people were amazed by his performance and he was able to get a solid fan base. The fan base that he acquired here are mainly teenage girls. Despite losing in the 2004 Swedish Idol to Daniel Lindstrom, Darin Zanyar was still able to release his own album in February of 2005. Some of the songs in his album are from the Swedish song hit maker Max Martin and Swedish artist Robyn. Some of the singles that he has released include "Money for Nothing," "Why does it rain," "Who's that girl," "Everything but the girl," "Perfect," and "Homeless." Due to his many achievements, Darin won the Kurd of the Year Award in the year 2005. Morgan Johansson, the Swedish Minister for Public Health and Social Services gave this award to him.
