Cybill Shepherd was named after her grandfather Cy and her father Bill, so the name Cybill Lynne Shepherd. She was born on 18th February 1950 in Memphis Tennessee. Her parents were William Jennings Shepherd and Patty Shobe. She has a long career which was extremely successful in spite of heavy failures faced by her during her career.

She has been married twice till date. Once she married when she was tired of Hollywood and wanted to go away from it. At that time she moved back to Memphis and married an auto-parts dealer David Ford. She has one daughter from her first marriage Clementine Ford. Almost after four years gap she made a comeback in Hollywood. Her second husband Bruce Oppenheim was a chiropractor. She married him and gave birth to twins Ariel and Zack.

Career of Cybill Shepherd

Cybill Shepherd won the title of Miss Memphis at the age of 16. Thereafter, she started pursuing modeling as a career, until she appeared on a magazine cover and a movie producer noticed her and signed her for the movie 'The Heartbreak Kid' which proved to be successful. After a series of flops she again bounced back in her stardom in the movie Taxi Driver with Robert De Niro.

After a sabbatical and a marriage she again came back to Hollywood and acted in a television serial called The Yellow Rose, which was critically acclaimed. She then got the role in Moonlighting another television serial which lasted for about four years. The role also won her two Golden Globe awards. She won her third Golden Globe award for another serial called Cybill which was loosely based on her real life character.

Cybill Shepherd also happens to be a singer and has released more than ten albums. The most recent CD is named 'At Home with Cybill'.
