Curd Jurgens was a Austrian actor, who was born to parents of German-French origin. His date of birth was 13th December 1915 and the day on which he died was 18th June 1982. His complete name was Curd Gustav Andreas Gottlieb Franz Jurgens. He was known as Curb Jurgens in all the English films. He was born in the Solln, Bavaria Germany.

Curt Jurgens married five times during his lifetime. His first wife was Louise Basler and another was Eva Bartok. During the Nazi rule, since he was critical of the Nazis he was put into a concentration camp, through which he survived. He became an actor because of Louise Basler, his initial profession was journalism.
He has played a soldier in number of movies. His initial success was 'The Longest Day' where he plays a meditative officer. The role that earned him fame was the 'The Devil's General and the French version of 'And God Created Woman'. However, his first Hollywood movie was 'The Enemy Below'.
He has also starred in a James Bond movie 'The Spy Who Loved Me'. Curd Jurgens, though had success in Hollywood, he frequently went back to Vienna to perform on stage. During his career he also directed some movies and wrote screenplays too, however he was not very successful at this.
He also has written an autobiography 'Sixty and Not Yet Wise', he died in Vienna, when he went to perform on stage, with a heart attack. His earlier heart-attack made him mention that he had died and had gone to hell. He has also made films in languages other than English those are German and French.
