Courtney Cox was born on 16th of June 1964, in an affluent American family. Her father was Richard L. Cox and mother Bass/Courtney. Her parents divorced and she grew up with her stepfather. Her mother was a housewife. She has two real sister and one real brother and nine half-brothers and half-sisters. She was born in the city of Birmingham, Alabama.
Courtney Cox's schooling was with her stepfather in a school called Mountain Brook, she wanted to study architecture, therefore she attended the Mount Vernon College for Women. She decided to pursue her career as a model when she was chosen by the Ford Modeling agency. She decided to drop out of the college. She knew swimming and was a tennis player at her school. After several relationships with other stars and actors she finally got married to David Arquette and has a daughter by the name of Coco Riley Arquette. Her best friend Jennifer Aniston happens to be her daughter's godmother.
She started her career in films and television from the advertisement for Tampax. She also acted in films like Master of the Universe, Cocoon: The Return, Ace Venture: Pet Detective. Her early television jobs were the serials like the Misfits of Science, Family Ties, Seinfeld, etc.
She got her good break with the television series Friends in which she played the role of Monica Geller. It was during this serial that she also got the chance to do some good movies like the Scream Trilogy (Scream I, II and III). During the making of this trilogy she met her would be husband David Arquette.
After marriage Courtney Cox concentrated on her family, therefore did not do the role offered in the television serial Desperate Housewives. At present, she is working for another television series 'Dirt'.
