Condoleezza Rice was born on 14th November 1954, in Birmingham, Alabama. She grew in the neighborhood of Titusville. She is the only child of John Wesley Rice and mother Angelena Ray. Reverend John Rice was a counselor at the Ullman High School, and
Angelena was a science, music and oratory teacher at Ullman High School.
Condoleezza Rice has faced racism first hand in Alabama, where there were different facilities for white people and colored people. She has also faced being treated differently at shops, during outings, etc. However, her parents taught her to be brave and to do better than everyone could so that she could perform better than anyone.
Professional life of Condoleezza Rice
Condoleezza Rice earned her Bachelor of Arts in political science and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Denver, in 1974 at the age 19, then in the year 1975 she obtained the Master's Degree in political science from the University of Notre Dame. She did her PhD at the age of 26 from the Graduate School of International Studies at Denver. She knows English and Russian fluently and German, French and Spanish in varying degrees.
Rice is very famous among the African American community, within the George Bush administration. At present she the United States Secretary of State, first black woman to do so and second African American after Colin Powell. She has also worked as National Security Advisor in the Bush administration during the year 2001-2005. Before joining politics she was working as a Professor of political science with Stanford University.
Condoleezza Rice has also served as Soviet and Eastern European Affairs advisor for George H.W. Bush. She was ranked as world's most powerful woman in 2004 and 2005 and world's second most powerful woman in 2006.
Condoleezaa Rice has not married, however she has dated Rick Upchurch when she was attending the University of Denver. Recently, there were rumors of link up with Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Peter MacKay.
