Clea Helen D'Etienne DuVall, better known to film and television audience as Clea DuVall, is an American actress who is known for her dark and unusual characters. In her own words, Clea DuVall is "an only child and I'm just a real loner kind of person, and yeah, kinda dark."

Clea DuVall was born in Los Angeles, California on September 25, 1977. Her parents had divorced when she was 12 years old and she moved out of the family home when her mother remarried. While she supported herself, she enrolled in the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts.

After playing out minor roles in Little Witches (1996), Life During Wartime (1997), She's All That (1998), Wildflowers (1998), and Can't Hardly Wait (1998), Clea DuVall got her breakthrough part in The Faculty in 1998. The movie, which also starred Elijah Wood and Josh Hartnett, was an alien body-snatcher tale directed by Robert Rodriguez, the same director for the films Desperado, El Mariachi and Once Upon a Time in Mexico. Later on, she played similar dark characters in But I'm a Cheerleader (1999) and in Girl, Interrupted (1999).

Later films that had Clea DuVall in the cast include Ghosts of Mars (2001), The Laramie Project (2002) and the critically acclaimed 21 Grams (2003). She was also part of the 2004 films Helter Skelter and The Grudge.

Aside from work in the movies, Clea DuVall also had a number of guest appearances in various television series. Among these programs are E.R. (1997), Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997), The Fugitive (2001), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2005) and Heroes (2006). Clea DuVall's best known work on television is her role as Sofie Agnesh Bojakshiya, the Omega in Carnival鬠a fantasy drama set in the Great Depression that was aired on HBO from 2003 to 2005.
