Biography
When one is to talk about supermodels, there is one person who will definitely come to mind. That person is none other than Claudia Schiffer. Claudia Schiffer is one of the first supermodels that the fashion industry ever had, and she is certainly one of the most popular and recognizable among them all. Of magazine covers ever graced, Claudia Schiffer holds the record: her face and figure has appeared in 900 magazine covers in total.

Claudia Schiffer was born in Rheinberg, Germany on August 25, 1970, to Heinz Schiffer, a lawyer, and Gudrun Schiffer. Being a model never really entered Claudia's mind in her early years; what she wanted was to become a lawyer and work for her father's firm. However, at the age of 17, she was discovered by modeling agent Michel Levaton in a Dusseldorf nightclub, and things changed for Claudia forever.

After graduating from high school, Claudia went to Paris, France and posed for her first Elle magazine cover. She then landed work for the House of Chanel and became fashion giant Karl Lagerfeld's favorite model. In 1989, she was chosen to be the new Guess? jeans girl, and she appeared in the company's advertising campaigns in the 1990s. The 1990s saw the peak of Claudia Schiffer's popularity.

Soon enough, Claudia Schiffer began to diversify and entered the world of show business. She had cameos in numerous movies like Richie Rich (1994), Zoolander (2001) and Love Actually (2003). She also had guest appearances in television programs like Dharma and Greg, Arrested Development and Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

Claudia Schiffer is also active in the charities scene. She worked as a volunteer for UNICEF and supported organizations like the Pediatric AIDS Foundation, the National Breast Cancer Coalition and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Though engaged for six years to the magician David Copperfield and shortly to the playboy Thomas Jeffries, Claudia Schiffer married film producer Matthew Vaughn in 2002. They have two children, Caspar Matthew and Clementine.
