Claudia Ann Christian was born in Glendale, California on August 10, 1965, although she grew up in Connecticut. Her first taste of acting came at the age of five, when she played a Native American in a school play. Later on, her family moved back to California, and so at the age of 16, she plunged into searching for her acting break. She got it when she landed a role on Dallas in 1978. That set off a number of appearances in various television programs.

Claudia Christian, however, is most known for her role as Susan Ivanova, a role she played for four years, from 1994 to 1998, in Babylon Five. Because of Susan Ivanova and the fact that most of her appearances were in science fiction dramas like Quantum Leap, Highlander and Space Rangers, Claudia Christian is considered a sci-fi babe and was voted as one of the hottest. She even posed for Playboy in 1999.

Claudia Christian's body of work includes the cult classics The Hidden (1987) and Hexed (1993). On the other hand, Michael Weller's What the Night is For and Killing Time are counted among her stage works.

As a recording artist and songwriter, Claudia Christian's songs are compiled in five albums: Taboo, Claudia Squared, Trying to Forget By the Be Five, Area 51 and Once Upon a Time. Her first novel, entitled Baptism of Fire and based on Babylon 5, is scheduled for release on 2007.
