Biography
Claudia Black is an Australian actress who found her niche in science fiction television programs. She is best known for her role as Aeryn Sun in Farscape, a series that ran from 1999 to 2003. She also appears regularly in Stargate SG-1 as Vala Mal Doran. Claudia Black was nominated as Best Actress for her role in Farscape twice in the Saturn Awards, in 2001 and 2002 respectively, before finally winning it in 2005. In 2004, she was voted as one of the hottest sci-fi babes in the Scifi WorldNet.
Although she is more known for her work in science-fiction programs, Claudia Black's body of work includes appearances in television programs outside the science fiction genre. She played the lawyer Angela Kostapas in City Life, as well as Claire Bonacci in A Country Practice. She was also a guest in other television programs like GP (1988), Police Rescue (1993), Beastmaster (2000), and Xena: Warrior Princess (2000).
