Biography
Some people come across their shot at fame totally by accident, never seeking it or even dreaming of it. Some people dream of attaining fame but would rather wait for fame to find them rather than actively pursue it. Some people, on the other hand, create their own opportunities to lure fame to them, believing that attracting fame is better than just sitting on their behinds and waiting for their chance to come by. Cindy Margolis belongs to this third group.
Born on October 1, 1965 in Los Angeles, California, Cindy Margolis is a model and a product endorser for companies such as Reebok, Coors, Sunkist, Hanes and Vidal Sassoon. She became part of the long-running game show The Price Is Right in 1995 as one of Bob Barker's Beauties. On 2000, she hosted her own late-night TV program, The Cindy Margolis Show. Cindy Margolis is also an avid poker player, and her prowess in the game made Tropical Poker enlist her to become one of its official spokespersons and represent it in various poker tournaments and related appearances, including the World Series of Poker Tour.
Cindy Margolis did not come across fame by accident or through waiting for her chance. She created her own shot at fame as a college student in California State University by taking a project she did for a business class to a different level. The project involved greeting cards, and so she took it upon herself to sell greeting cards containing pictures of her wearing lingerie. These greeting cards also had her phone number, so when they came to the hands of talent agents, the talent agents came to her.
On 1996, she again displayed her sense of enterprise by putting up her own website at a time when the Internet has yet to reach the pervasiveness that it has today. From 1996 to 1999, she was called "The Queen of the Internet" for being the most downloaded woman online. The Guinness World Records for 1999 confirmed this and recorded that at one time, Cindy Margolis got downloaded 70,000 times within the span of twenty-four hours.
