Christine Lakin is another one of those rare breed of actresses who have smoothly made the transition from being a child star to a serious adult actress. She is most famous for playing Alicia "Al" Lambert in Step by Step, a sitcom that starred Patrick Duffy and Suzanne Sommers. Christine Lakin had that role for all seven seasons of the program.

Christine Helen Lakin started out in show business by doing commercials. Though she was born in Dallas, Texas on January 25, 1979, she and her family spent her childhood moving from place to place until they finally settled in Atlanta, Georgia. In Atlanta, Christine Lakin became part of a theater group that toured the schools located in the Atlanta metro area. Her first major role was in the 1998 TV movie The Rose and the Jackal, an American Civil War movie that included Christopher Reeve in its cast. A year later, Christine Lakin was placed in her most memorable role of Al Lambert.

America saw Christine Lakin grow up in Step by Step, and the series' ratings went even higher when she reached her teenage years in the show, as many young male viewers have begun to find her attractive and have joined her fan base. While working on Step by Step, Christine Lakin attended the University of California in Los Angeles, where she graduated cum laude with a BA in communications in 2003.

Step by Step got cancelled in 1998, and Christine Lakin began appearing in independent films. Among her notable film performances are Big Monsters on Campus, Finding Kelly, and Whatever It Takes, which were all released on 2000.

Recently, Christine Lakin has been part of the cast of Gary Marshall's musical Happy Days: A Family Musical. She is also a regular cast on MTV's Wild 'N Out.
