Biography
Christina Flores, better known to the rest of the world as Christina Milian, is a Cuban-American songwriter, singer and actress. She was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on September 26, 1981.
Christina Milian had her first big break into the music industry when she lent her voice as guest vocals in a single off Ja Rule's album Rule 3:36. The track was called Between Me and You, and it peaked at number one on the Billboard 200. Later on, she wrote the song Play, initially intended as promotional club song for her first solo album Christina Milian. The song, however, was passed on to Jennifer Lopez for her album J.Lo.
Christina Milian's first single from Christina Milian, AM to PM, became an instant hit worldwide. It heralded the international release of the album itself, and the album hit the Top 40 mark in Billboard 200. However, the release of the album in the United States was delayed.
The two albums that followed Christina Milian did poorly, both on the charts and in sales. It's About Time, Christina Milian's second album only saw sales of 385,000 in the United States and peaked at number 14 on Billboard 200. However, the album was nominated for a Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B Album. Christina Milian's biggest hit, Dip It Low, came from It's About Time. Tepid sales figures were also the problem with Christina Milian's third album, So Amazing, and it is believed that this was the reason why Christina Milian left her label, Island Def Jam.
Aside from singing and songwriting, Christina Milian's body of work included appearances in movies and television. She notably played Linda Moon in the cookie movie Be Cool, which starred John Travolta and Uma Thurman. Christina Milian also provided songs for the soundtrack of the animated TV series Kim Possible.
