Biography
Born on November 25, 1971, Christina Applegate entered the world of show business at the age of three months when her mother, the actress Nancy Priddy, appeared in the soap opera The Days of Our Lives carrying the baby Christina in her arms. Since then, Christina Applegate became a child star and one of the most easily recognizable faces on American television.

Christina Applegate has a list of television roles to her name, including appearances in Quincy, Charles in Charge, Washingtoon and Heart of the City. However, she is best known for her role as the promiscuous teenager Kelly Bundy in the sitcom Married with Children, a part she played for nearly eleven years. Her other works include the 1983 TV biopic Grace Kelly, where she played the legendary actress turned Princess of Monaco as a child, the 2002 film The Sweetest Thing, where she played best friend to Cameron Diaz's character, and in the 2004 comedy Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, where her smart blonde newscaster played foil to Will Ferrell. She was also in the crazy and star-studded sci-fi comedy Mars Attacks! by Tim Burton.

Christina Applegate has a primetime Emmy Award for her guest appearance in another long-running sitcom, Friends. There she played Amy Green, sister of Rachel, Jennifer Aniston's character.

Aside from film and television, Broadway also has its part in Christina Applegate's resume. In 2005, she won a Theatre World Award, and was nominated a Tony Award and a Drama Desk Award, for her performance in Sweet Charity, which ran in Broadway for more than two years.

Christina Applegate is also active in charities. As her mother was a breast cancer survivor, Christina Applegate acted as a spokesperson for the Lee National Denim Day in 2003, a fundraising event for breast cancer research and education. She is an active supporter of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), an animal rights group.
