Biography
Christopher Anton Rea was born in Middleburgh, England on March 4th, 1951. Although Rea was left handed he learned how to play the guitar with his right hand. The British singer, song writer and guitarist had great successes in the middle 80's and in the early 90's. He was recognized as an authentic music maker with his guitar. Rea started his career as a teen, and went on to release his 1st single "So much love". Although this was not a great success Rea joined a local band called Magdalene. In the band he took the place of David Cloverdale and with his appearance the band went on to win a national contest in 1975 as Beautiful losers.
Rea then decided to leave the band and recorded his own album "Whatever happened to Benny Santini". This album was a great hit and Rea evolved as a star. The track Fool ("if you think its over") made it to the top 20 on the U.S charts. In 1980's he made an album called "New light through Old Windows". It was an album with several complicated tracks from Rea. It was released in 1988 and went on to be a hit in U.K, Europe. It also made it to the U.S charts.
In 1983, when things were not really going in favor of Rea, an offer from Ireland saved his singing career. Here he was called upon to promote the album "Water sign". The dance beat "I Can Hear Your " and the album both made it to the top 20 of several European countries and a full scale tour was conducted to consolidate on the success being realized.
Rea's best album is always considered to be "The road to hell". This album was very well responded to by all music lovers and turned out to be a hit. In 2005 Rea released his most ambitious album. This 130 track box set had all new material inspired by the blues and also had his own painting called the "Blue Guitars".
