Chris Klein was born on 14th March, 1979 in Hinsdale, Illinois. He was brought up in Hinsdale for 13 years. He then relocated to Nebraska along with his family. Klien was a famous quarterback player in high school. He played the role of an uninteresting boy friend in Paul Weitz's movie 'American Dreamz' in 2006. In 2005, he was cast by Director Roger Kumble in his romantic comedy 'Just friends', along with Ryan Reynolds and Amy Smart. In 2004 he was cast in 'The United States of Leland' by Ryan Gosling. In 2003 Klein was cast as the boyfriend of a girl (played by 'Michele Williams'), whose brother is stabbed twenty times by a teenager (played by Ryan gosling).
Klein played the lead role in the remake of the 1970's movie 'The roller ball, in 2002. During this year he also appeared in the ensemble of the Vietnam-era drama 'We Were Soldiers'. The movie was about the Air Calvary's landing on November 14, 1965 in the Ia Drang Valley. This vivid story of the Vietnam War brought him success. In 2001 he played a nice guy who gets romantically invovled with a woman who he thinks is his sister in 'Say It Isn't So'.
The turning point in his career was in 2001 when he played the role of Oz in 'American Pie 2'. As Oz he was portrayed as a lacrosse player who, in an attempt to impress girls, seeks to prove he is more than a mindless sports hero by joining a choir. In 2000 he was cast opposite Leelee Sobieski in the love story 'Here on Earth'.
In 1999 Klein co-starred in the teen ensemble comedy 'American Pie', playing Oz. He has also promoted commercial products like computer games. A computer gaming company called Maxis signed him for a commercial of their online computer game "the Sims online".
