Biography
Born on 1st April 1966 in Warrington, England, Chris Evans has a daughter named Jade who was born in 1986 by Alison Ward. Chris Evans is well known as a radio and television presenter and producer.
He started his career way back in 1983 as an assistant to Timmy Mallet at Manchester Paccadilly Radio where he was also playing in one of his shows during that time called 'Nobby Nolevel'. He would DJ in local pubs when he was not at the radio station where alternative and gothic rock of the mid 1980s was very popular.
Evans became a presenter in the early 1990s at BBC London radio station GLR doing the Saturday afternoon show. In early 1991 Evans presented his show 'Round At Chris' on BSkyB television on every Saturday till April 1993. On September 29th 1994 he formed his own production company, Ginger production. One of its major early programs was 'Don't forget your toothbrush' which is still regarded as his best work by critics.
In April 1993 he joined Virgin radio where he hosted a show called 'The big red mug show' until 1997 and by December he brought Virgin Radio from Richard Branson for ?85m with the assistance of investors. He formed Ginger Media Group for the interest of both Ginger production and Virgin Radio. During 1999 he ran a successful radio quiz show 'Who's going to be a millionaire (a reference to the successful T.V show 'Who wants to be a millionaire'). A million pound prize was awarded on 17th December on radio. On March GMG was sold to SMG plc for ?285m.
In August 2002 Evans set up a radio and television production company, UMTV, which produced famous programs like 'Live with Christian O'Connell' and 'Live with Chris Moyles'. In May 2006 he was awarded the 'music radio personality' of the year and while accepting the award Evans thanked BBC for giving him 'a second chance'.
