Biography
Chloe Sevigny was born on November 18th, 1974 at Darien, Connecticut, USA. Her mother is Polish American and her father is a distant descendent of the French Aristocrat. She has an older sibling. Chloe moved into her own apartment in Manhattan at the age of 18. It was on the east village street that she was spotted by the fashion editor of the Sassy magazine who was impressed by her distinct style. He asked her to model for the magazine which she did and the rest is history as we know it.
Jim McInerney wrote a seven page article about her for the New Yorker where he dubbed her as the new 'it girl'. Chloe made her film debut in the low budget independent film 'Kids' in 1995 the film was rated NC-17 by the MPAA for its graphic sexuality and drug abuse involving minors. In 1996 she starred in an independent film 'Trees Lounge' and then she starred in several other hits such as 'Gummo', 'Palmetto', 'The last days of disco', 'Boys don't cry' and the list goes on till her latest film 'Catherine and Peter' which will be released somewhere in early 2008.
She received an Oscar for the best supporting actress as 'Lana' in 'Boys don't cry' which was also nominated at the Golden Globe during the year 1999. Some of her famous personal quotes are "I have questioned the issues of gender and sexuality since I was a teenager and I did some experimenting". She brought an apartment in Manhattan in 2006. While her romantic life is often hidden from limelight she has been romantically linked to actors like Leonardo Dicaprio, Vincent Gallo, Jared Leto and Harmony Kornie amongst others. Chloe Sevigny has certainly lived life on her own terms and continues to do so with grit and determination.
