Biography
Charles Milles Manson who is finest known for a killing extravaganza way back 1969, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 12, 1934. According to some documents, his real birth name is "No Name Maddox". He was born to a 16-year old mother in the named of Kathleen Maddox. Charles' surname of Manson was derived from his stepfather named William Manson, who married his mother right after he was born.
Charles was a musician and a clever criminal and came to light during the 1960s. He was more than just a little unstable as he grouped together a band of band of religious followers who bought into his crazy beliefs. His followers believed that he was the prevailing manifestation of "Jesus Christ". Charles and his followers were involved in several simultaneous brutal murders in the year 1969 wherein they had killed seven people.
One renowned victim was actress Sharon Tate, who was the wife of a prominent film director at that time named Roman Polanski. This high profile murder put Charles and his followers in the middle of a serious judicial case. The case lasted for almost seven months and a guilty verdict for declared along with a death penalty. But in year 1972, California annulled the death penalty of Charles and the decision was changed into lifetime imprisonment instead. He was put in jail at Corcoran State Prison in California. Prior to this Charles' request for parole was denied ten times.
Before Charles was convicted of the brutal killings in Los Angeles, he was known to be associated with prominent musicians like Dennis Wilson of "The Beach Boys". Charles' story was made into film in the year 1976 and role was played by Steve Railsback. Charles had spent most his mature life in jail, for several crimes namely forgery, pimping, credit card fraud and car theft. This year 2007, the court is about to grant his parole.
