Chandra North is a native of Dallas, Texas and was born in July 31, 1973. While growing up, Chandra has desired to become a ballerina. There were times during her teen years that she would escape from her friends and classmates just to attend school dances and clubs. She took her ballet lessons from the age of six to fifteen. Her name "Chandra" means "Moon" in Hindi. Her mother's name is Rives and she was a former Neiman Marcus sales associate. She never got the chance of meeting his father since her mother divorced him when she was just a toddler. One summer, Chandra was discovered by a male scout agent who noticed her model-like look while she was sitting at the poolside of the Southern Methodist University. She was then offered to pose for department store catalogs and newspapers.

In 1991, Chandra moved to New York City to pursue her modeling career. She auditioned for a ballet company. She bagged several great modeling jobs after arriving at New York and several months she was sent to Paris to further enhance of her ability as a runway model. In 1995, she emerged as a model for the clothing lines of Isaac Mizrahi and Richard Tyler's runway shows in Paris and Milan.

Chandra's pose in Sports Illustrated (SI) Swimsuit Edition of year 2002 was a super hit. Chandra also modeled for top designers, modeling products such as Victoria's Secret. She was featured on fashion magazine covers of Allure, W, Harper's Bazaar and Vogue amongst others in the industry. Chandra met her husband in New York named Daniel Blaylock, who was employed as a bicycle messenger. She gave birth to a son named Hayden in August 2000. And currently she is a main endorser/contract model for Storm Models.
