Biography
Carolyn Murphy is a native of Walton Beach, Florida and was born on August 11, 1975. The encouragements of her mother lead her to the profession of modeling. She was enrolled in a modeling school where she was well trained and it was there that she developed into a prominent model. She was scouted by Mary Lou's models at the age of 16.
When Carolyn entered the modeling industry, everything came spontaneously for her. She was given several opportunities in local modeling jobs, conventions and campaign ads. Until the time came when an agent spotted her at one of the conventions that she was attending. Before she knew it she began walking the runways of Paris and New York.
Carolyn is an efficient actress. She is also dedicated mother to her daughter named Dylan Blue. In 1999, Carolyn proved that she can be an efficient actress as well, when she was given a role in the Barry Levinson's film, Liberty Heights. This was a major transition for her as it took her from being a supermodel to an actress. But she has proved her worth in the profession and many recognized her for the superb performance. She also dated the Dutch model Mark Vanderloo.
Carolyn's face can be seen in Estee Lauder campaign ads where she had replaced another famous model/actress Elizabeth Hurley from being the main endorser model. She was also recognized as Vogue's Model of the Year in 1998. She has done several campaigns for world-famous design establishments like Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and Prada. Last February 2005, she was selected to pose on the cover of Sports Illustrated (Swimsuit Edition). Aside from Vogue, she also appeared on the top cover in several fashion magazines such as Harper's Bazaar, W, ELLE and Marie Claire. She also did several perfume commercials and print ads with Calvin Klein.
Presently, Carolyn is dating Brandon Boyd, a lead singer of Incubus (rock band), after separating from her husband Jake Schroeder, an online entrepreneur.
