Carol Alt is a native from East Williston, New York and was born on December 1, 1960. Among the four children of Anthoney and Muriel Alt, she is the third. Her modeling career started, when she was spotted by a modeling agent during her freshman year at Hofstra University while waiting on a table. After that, she moved to Manhattan and pursued her modeling career and became one of the top models of the 80s. And as early as 16, she became a professional model.

During Carol's early years as a model, she was identified as the "Face" and the "Most Beautiful Woman in the World" by Playboy and Life magazines. Carol also jumpstarted her career in films in year 1983 when she took a small role in "Portfolio" which was followed by an Italian film "Mote Napoleone". As an actress, she received recognition in Italy and Europe as well. Her one famous film, which was produced in the US was "Howard Stern's Private Parts" in 1996.

Carol also emerged in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit video as well as other exercise videos and one major runway project such as "Supermodels in the Rainforest". She can also be seen in various campaign ads of Hanes, Virgina Slims and Cover Girl. But Carol's modeling career ended early and she decided to concentrate on her acting career instead. She appeared in more than 45 European films. Although her modeling career ended early, Carol has been a living legend in the fashion industry.

Carol married Ron Greschner, a professional ice hockey player for New York Rangers, in 1983. But they got divorced in 1996, after which she got involved with a Russian ice hockey star Alexei Yahin who played for New York Islanders. She never got married to Alexei Yahin, as was popularly announced in an ESPN interview last 2006. They clearly stated that they only have a serious and committed relationship.

Her favorite pastimes include playing golf, basketball, singing, driving race cars, singing, traveling and answering her fan mails, etc.
