Candice Patricia Bergen is a well known American actress. Born in 1946, she was an Academy award nominee and Emmy award Winner. She started her career as a model. She has grown in the field of show biz and currently acting in the comedy serial Murphy Brown. Bergen made a stage appearance as early as an eleven year old. She has studied photography and had a career as a photo journalist. She moved on to modeling before ending up as an actress. The movie 'Starting over' offered her to be nominated for Oscar and Golden Globe as a best supporting actress.
The famous 'Saturday Night Live' invited her as the first female guest host for their show. She got offers later also to be a journalist which she declined, as she felt acting was her main career. In 2006, Bergen received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in 'Boston Legal'. The guest appearances she made in the 'Sex and the City' made her a notable artist of our times.
