In the third season of American Idol, Camile Velasco emerged as one of the finalists. She is another from the Filipino-American race that reached the finals in American Idol. The same batch had Jasmine Trias in it. Her full name is Ciara-Camille Roque Velasco and she often addressed as "Koy" by her relatives and closed friends. She was born in Makati City, Philippines on April 1st, 1985. Camile struggled and worked hard before she became a singing sensation. She used to work in her parents' restaurant located in Maui, Hawaii.

Camille has four sisters namely Divina (11 years younger), Tuesday Alexis (3 years younger), Christina (16 years younger), Isabelle (18 years younger), and one brother named Jay-Jay (4 years younger). She loves to create hand-made crafts based on her artistic ideas. She attended high school in Saint Anthony Senior High School. She is half Filipino, one-fourth Spanish and one-fourth Irish. She regards Lauryn Hill as one of the greatest influences in her music style. She used to play guitar and piano while writing and composing her songs.

Camille is known for her trademark of a green, yellow and red wristband, which she considers as her good luck charm. To the media, Camile is known for her self-designed clothes. She is almost fearless with expressing her own thoughts and ideas in extraordinary ways.

Camille has been a pride to her home country the Philippines because of her achievement in making it to the finals of American Idol. She had appeared in some top rated shows in the Philippines such as Wazzup Wazzup and The Buzz. Today she has already released her solo album with Universal/Motown, which is a massive hit in California and Hawaii as well. Currently, she's about to complete an album with Loudmouth/Uhype.
