Biography
If there was a line to describe the evolution of Burt Reynolds's movie career, it could have been "A fame that came by accident". Truly, his sudden engagement with acting was just because of a freak car accident that he had.

Burt Reynolds was a sports buff prior his shift to his acting career. He has earned citations such as School's Star Running Back and All Southern and First Team All-State in the football arena. Little did he realize that apart from his football sports, he would learn to master another craft that all along he did not know that he has - acting. When Burt came to Florida State University as a football scholar, all he wanted was to be famous in that sport. His switch from football to acting came when he met a knee injury brought by a serious car accident in 1955 that required him to come home in Riviera Beach where he met Watson B. Duncan III- considered the most influential person in his life. Duncan became his mentor not only in English language but also in acting. Coming back to Florida State, the switch has transpired successfully when he won the Florida State Drama Award in 1956.

Burton Leon Reynolds Jr., in real life was born in Waycross. Raised in Riviera Beach, Florida, he attended school in Lake Park and Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts in West Palm Beach. He was romantically involved with a lot of women, the likes of Dinah Shore, Sally Field, and Chris Evert. He was married to Judy Carne in 1963 that lasted up until 1965 and in 1988 with Loni Anderson which ended in 1993. He has an adopted son named Quintin.

Reynolds's smash hit came into a picture when he starred in the James Dickey film adaptation novel Deliverance 1972. This critically acclaimed film was subsequently followed by another box office movie "White Lightning". This film has been an eye opener to Hollywood producers to make more southern films. With all the successful events that came into his life, his acting career has expanded by directing some of the films he made specifically the film Gator, the sequel to White Lightning.

Burt Reynolds has an autobiography entitle "My Life" that was made publicly sold in 1994.
