Biography
Film industry is never complete without the name of one of the most sought-after action stars in Hollywood - Walter Willison a.k.a Bruce Willis. Bruce, whose Die Hard sequels has gained him the reputation as one the most bankable action stars, was born on March 19,1955, in West Germany. He has lived in numerous places such as New Jersey when he was age 2. It was also in the same state that he had his first job at DuPont Chambers Works factory. His love for acting made him take a drama class at Montclair State University. With such a high passion in acting, he moved to New York state hoping to land in an acting job, but career highlights have been elusive, yet. In 1977, he was able to secure a temporary stage acting stints.
In 1984, he took the challenge of auditioning as a lead player in the series Moonlighting, where he will be playing the character of David Addison. Luckily, among the 3,000 applicants, Willis was chosen and was instantly casted on the series opposite Shepherd, Cybill. The series has made its maiden telecast on March 1985 and was off the air after 4 years ending its showing on May 1989.
In between those years that he was doing the series, he made a controversial love affair with his leading lady, Cybill. However, in 1987, when he met Demi Moore, he fell in love and married her. It was in 1988 that he finally hit the blockbuster when he shot and led the portrayal of John McClane in the movie "Die Hard". This movie broke several box office records which led to the conception of doing sequels, Die Hard 2 in 1990, and Die Hard 3 : With A Vengeance in 1995 that again proved to be blockbusters.
Willis has also met some "tragedies" in his career, like the drama film "In Country" and "The Bonfire of the Vanities" where he played as a Vietnamese vet and as a British reporter, respectively. His offing relationship with his wife, Demi, has concluded, finally, when Moore filed a divorce in the fall of 2000.
With the surprising hit in the blockbuster of the film Sixth Sense, Willis has reasons to celebrate and be happy.
By 2007, the fourth installment of the Die Hard series entitled Die Hard: Live Free or die Hard will be seen once again in cinemas under the direction of Len Wiseman.
