Biography
Brendan Fraser was born on December 3, 1968. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to parents, Peter and Carol Fraser. Brendan Fraser has dual citizenship, Canadian-American. And since his father was then a Canadian Tourism Commissioner, almost every 2 or 3 years, they move to different places in Canada, United States and even Europe.
It was when he was 12 or 13 years old and they were in London that he found stage plays very fascinating. He would go on his own to watch plays. And when he was 14 and they stayed in Seattle, Washington, he got the chance to appear on some plays like A Midsummer Night's Dream and Waiting for Godot. He earned the bachelor's degree in fine arts at Cornish College of Arts in Seattle.
He appeared in some movies that were never shown in theaters but those have encouraged him to go on auditions for some films. Not too long that he got a role in Dogfight on 1991. This has given him the chance to meet other casting agents and contacts that soon have given him breaks. In 1992, he had his major role in Encino Man. This paved the way for the many films that followed like School Ties on 1992, Son In Law on 1993, In the Army Now on 1994. He also appeared in 1994 in the film, With Honors.
One of the major projects that he had is George of the Jungle. He really tried to lose some weight and spent serious six months to work out since he will be required to wear a loincloth throughout the movie.
And who could have missed The Mummy? It was during this movie that people said that the next Harrison Ford would be Brendan Fraser. The movie, The Mummy has earned $44.6 million on its first week of showing.
Fraser was married to Afton Smith on September 27, 1998. Artist that he was, he loves photography, collecting cameras, skiing and rock climbing.
