Born in Portland, Oregon on the fifth of September, 1968, Brad Wilk was generally a music fanatic. The Sex Pistols and Led Zepplin were some of his idols. Then he mentioned that he was influenced by James Brown's music and George Clinton.
When Brad was young, his family moves from one place to another until they settled in Southern California. He played drums when he was still thirteen years old. Then, he ventured in having a career by being a drummer by posting in newspaper an ad for a band. This led him to work with some popular bands which are Audioslave and Rage Against The Machine.
Brad teamed up with Tim Commerford, Zach De La Rocha and Tom Morella to have the Rage Against the Machine. This came after his disappointments from auditioning for a band named Lock Up which only released one album. However, four albums were released by the Rage Against the Machine band before they part ways in year 2000. The albums were Rage Against the Machin, Evil Empire, The Battle of Los Angeles and Renegades.
After La Rocha left his bandmates, he was replaced by Chris Cornell and Civilian band was formed. Later on the band name changed to Audioslave where Wilk became the drummer until 2007. Some of their albums include Audioslave, Out of Exile and Revelations. Out of Exile have even topped the charts and million of copies were sold around the world. Moreover, they were able to make history by being the first American Rock Band to have a show in Cuba.
