Born George Alan O'Dowd in Eltham, Kentucky on the 14th of June 1961, Boy George came from an Irish Family. His music career started whne he was set to perform with Bow Wow Wow on different shows. That partnership did not last long so Boy George put up a band called In Praise Of Lemmings.

In 1982, Boy George band's name changed to Culture Club where he was the lead singer. His voice was so powerful and soulful that caught the attention of American and English music lovers. He even created a unique person of a man with heavy makeup wearing extreme clothes. The uniqueness made the group so popular.

Boy George resurfaced and made a name in United Kingdom as solo artist in 1987. However, he was not able to replicate his success in United States. Some of his greatest singles include Everything I Own, Keep Me In Mind and Live My Life in 1987. There is also Don't Cry, You Found another Guy, # Whisper, One On One and The Crying Game.

The first album released by Boy George was titled "Sold." Then, the second one is compilation of his singles and songs from the Sold album. It was entitled "High Hat." Some other Boy George albums include Tense Nervous Headach, Boyfriend, At Worst: The Best of Boy George and Culture Club, Devil in Sister George, Cheapness and Beauty, Fantazia, Galaxy mix, Taboo, U Can Never B2 Straight, and Yum Yum.

Boy George also began a Disc Jockey career in 1990. He was asked to mix songs for Fantazia, which became a hit in United Kingdom. He also is a weekly contributor in "The Daily Express" and host in Galaxy Radio Network. Additionally, he portrayed himself in Taboo, which is a London musical. This made him a 2004 Tony Awards Nominee.
