Biography
He was born as Shad Gregory Moss on 9th of March 1987 in Columbus, Ohio to parents Alsonso and Teresa. At 5, he was already rapping using the pseudonym Kid Gangsta. In 1993, he was seen at Columbus Chronic Tour. Popular rappers Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre praised him. And they were the one who called him Lil Bow Wow. He then appeared as an opening act in Dr. Dre Death Row Records roster and on Snoop's skit in his debut Doggystyle.
Producer Jermaine Dupre has guided him and on 2000, Beware of Dog, which is Bow Wow's first album was released. His single Bounce With Me made it a hit on the same year. After 2 years, he released his second album Doggy Bag with hit songs Take You Home and Thank You. It was in 2002 that he decided to remove the word lil in his screen name. After a year, his third album, Unleashed came. With the previous albums, Dupri has always been helping him write his songs but not on this third album.
Bow Wow was not just contented with singing. He had his scting debut in Like Mike on 2002. He also played alongside Vanessa Williams and Solange Knowlws in Johnson Family Vacation. He aslo appeared in the sitcom Moesha and The Steve Harvey Show. He also had commercials for Chewits Campbells, Verbs and Twix.
In 2005, he released Wanted as his fourth album, now working again with producer Jermaine Dupri. The ablum included the hit songs Let Me Hold You and Like You. A year later, his fifth album was released, The Prince of Fame. The single Shortie Like Mine which is included in this album made it at number 9 in the Billboard.
While working on these albums, he also managed to shoot other films like Mr. President, Roll Bounce and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift not including other tv projects like Smallville.
