The first Russian Federation President was born on February 1, 1931 in Butka, Sverdlovsk. He is named as Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin. He loves sports specifically volleyball, gymnastics, boxing, wrestling, skiing and track and field.
Boris Yeltsin entered Pushkin High School in Berezniki in Perm Krai where his leadership skills were developed. He was involved in street fights and had arguments with school teachers, which would end up in his favor.
Boris had a Degree in Civil Engineering from Ural Polytechnic Institute. From 1955 until 1963, he worked as foreman, superintendent and chief Engineer in construction. He also became part of Soviet Union's Communist Party and was chosen as Sverdlovsk Regional Party Committee's Secretary.
Mikhail Gorbachev promoted him to high positions in Moscow thinking that Boris is the right man in resolving the corruption problem with Moscow's party. But Boris Yeltsin had conflicts with political leaders incliuding Gorbachev. Thus, the later requested that Boris Yeltsin be removed from Moscow Party because of Political Immaturity as well as Absolute Irresponsibility. People of Moscow continued to show support for Boris Yeltsin after what had happened to him. He won over Gorbachev's idea of free election for New Congress.
In 1991, Boris Yeltsin was elected as President of Russian Federation after resigning from Communist party a year before. During his term, he faced challenging situations such as economic crisis, coup attempt, military fiasco and hostile legislature. Despite that, he still remained victorious in 1996 election against Communist Gennady Zyuganov.
Because of his health problems, he had to resign in 1999. He had undergone four heart bypass surgery and was not able to perform his duties as president. Boris Yeltsin became less popular and he was even accused of being corrupt together with his family.
Although Boris Yeltsin was considered as an unstable leader, he made a significant contribution in world history.
