Biography
A Rock and Roll icon, Bono started making a name when he became U2's lead singer in 1976. He was an exceptional performer and even wrote songs for their band's album.

Born as Paul Hewson in Dublin, Ireland on the 10th of May 1960, he was raised by his parents well though both came from different religion. Hewson's mother was a Protestant while his father was a Catholic. This religious conflicts influence him in writing songs that touched people's hearts.

On October 1976, Larry Mullen Jr posted an ad looking for musicians for a rock group. This group was later on called as U2 which was composed of Larry Mullen in drums; Adam Clayton in base; and Hewson in guitar as well as vocals. He even wrote songs for the group. He then picked up Bono as his nickname. It originated from Bono Vox, which is a Latin word that means good voice.

U2 made a name when their "The Joshua and Tree" album was released in 1987. Bono became an instrument for making U2's album a hit in the market. His voice and tone was considered rebellious which might have been interpreted as political rage and anger.

In 1991, U2 released another album entitled "Achtung Baby" that includes songs based on the band member's life and experiences. During the band's tour and shows onstage, Bono portrayed different personas, which were appreciated by their audience. He even asked the crowd's participation such as dancing with them or pulling a fan onstage.

Bono and U2 received different awards, which includes twenty-two Grammy Awards (to date), Best Original Song for Golden Globe award and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Bono is married to Alison Steward on August 21, 1982 and have four children named Jordan, Memphis Eve, Elijah Bob Patricius Guggi Q and John Abraham. They currently live in Dublin Country, Ireland.
