Biography
Robert Allen Zimmerman, better known as Bob Dylan, was a very popular singer-songwriter in 1960's. He was born in Duluth, Minnesota on the 24th of May 1941.

Dylan loves listening to radio when he was young. During high school, he put up some bands, which include "The Shadow Blasters" and "The Golden Chords." Then in 1959, he enrolled at the University of Minnesota but because of his love for music, he dropped out of college to pursue his dreams of becoming a music icon.

The first concert of Dylan happened when he performed as an opening Act for John Lee Hooker in 1962. Then Bob Dylan became his legal name and his first album was recorded a year after.

However in July of 1966, Dylan met an accident, which forced him to take a break from music industry. He secluded for almost nine months so that he can easily recover from the motorcycle accident. But his initial appearance after the mishap was at the Woody Gurthrie's memorial concern in 1968. From then on, he is unstoppable in writing and recording new songs as well as performing in concerts.

Fom folk, pop, rock and roll, jazz to country blues, name it and Dylan have definitely adapted those styles easily. His lyrics speak of social issues, philosophy and politics.

Dylan uses piano, harmonica and guitar when he performs onstage. He worked with popular artists such as Eric Clapton, Patti Smith and Paul Simon. His compositions such as "Blowin in the Wind," "Like a Rolling Stone," A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall," "Mr Tambourine Man" and "The Times They Are a-Changin'" became hit songs.

With his great contributions in Music Industry, he won Grammy Award 1979 and in 1991 he received a Lifetime Achievement Grammy.

Dylan also entered the Film industry initially "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid" as an actor and musician. Then, he became the director of "Renaldo and Clara" in 1978. Some of his songs were also part of the soundtrack of movies such as Coming Home, Forrest Gump and Wonder Boys.
