Biography
The South Korean singer Kwon Boa was born on November 5, 1986 in Kyung Gi Do. Her career started when SM Entertainment (Korean Record Label) was trying to look for a big star to represent Asia. On this event his brother auditioned and was asked if he has a younger sibling. So he comes back in the audition bringing his 11 year old sister who showed her singing and dancing talent.
SM Entertainment thought that the little girl has the potential of becoming a star. With that they immediately called her parents to ask permission so that BoA can undergo training that she needs to refine her talents and skills. She first had to learn different languages, which include Japanese and English. Then she has to attend vocal training and dancing classes.
In 2000, BoA's debut album entitled "ID: Peace B" was released and then her Japanese language skills was tested when she was invited by Japan's big music label called Avex. Her debut album in Japan entitled "Listen to my heart" became the first foreigner to hit number 1 in Oricon chart. And when she was 18, she got the Most Influential Asian Artist Award on MTV Asia.
BoA's great talent quickly spread in Asia because albums that she released have sold many copies. This includes Valenti in (2003), Atlantis Princess (2003), Shine We Are! (2003), Love & Honesty (2004), My Name (2004), Best of Soul (2005), Girls on Top (2005), Do the Motion (2005), Outgrow (2006) and others.
Since BoA has also interest in acting, she entered the Film industry by being the voice of Heather in the Japanese anime "Over The Hedge" released in 2006.
In 2006 Boa's career was mainly focused in Japan where he have done a lot shows and Concerts. However, she was also invited to prestigious events and shows such as Korean Music Festival, APEC and CNN. She has also performed with Westlife and Britney Spears. Moreover, she appeared in big companies' advertisements, which include Nike, Skechers, Toshiba, Lipton, Levis and Maybelline.
