Biography
She was known as "Bips" or "Bonny" by her close friends and family members, Bipasha Basu was born on January 7, 1979 in Delhi, India. Bips was made famous when she became the winner of the Famous Ford Supermodel Contest at an early age of 17 years old. This Bollywood actress also won in the Miss Super Vivacious Contest.

Bips have two more sisters and she is the second among the three sisters. Her family moved to Kolkota New Delhi so she can study and earn a degree in business studies. Bips' modeling career was an accident as she planned to study medicine or accountancy. She admitted that she was not able to perform the scientific process of dissecting rats thus she no longer wanted to be a medical student.

With the growing competition in modeling business in Bollywood, Bips was actually considered to be one of those who were able to maintain modeling career successful. Her beauty and talent made her received more movie offers even for mature roles and was considered as a sex symbol in Bollywood these days.

In 2005, Bips' role in the critically acclaimed movie Phi Hera Pheri received good ratings and a box office grossing film in that year. She also appeared in the movie Raaz released in 2002 and Jism released in 2003.
