Bijou Phillips is an actress and singer. She began her career as a successful model during her early teenage years. More than anything, she is becoming known as an actress, as she has appeared in numerous film roles, especially since the turn of the millennium.
Bijou Phillips was born in Greenwich, Connecticut on April first, 1980. Her father is John Phillips from the band "The Mamas and the Papas". Her mother is a model from South Africa. She became a fashion model at an early age, appearing on the cover of magazines including Vogue, Playboy, People, Nylon, Detour, Stuff and Interview. Her advertising clients included Calvin Klein and Maxim. By the time she was 16, Bijou Phillips was already living an independent life with the money she made from modeling. She stopped modeling, however, at the age of seventeen when she got a recording contract with Almos Records. She has recently been working on a follow-up album, although her musical career has not taken off.

Some of the better movies she has been in are "Almost Famous" (where she played one of the groupies, Estrella Starr), "Bully", and "Hostel: Part II". She has also appeared in the critically praised film "Zodiac", which has just recently been released as of early 2007.
