Biography
Ashley Tisdale is an actress and model who has recently started to pursue a music career. She is best known for a number of roles in family marketed television series and movies produced by the Disney Channel.
Ashley Tisdale was born in West Deal, New Jersey on July 2, 1985. Her grandfather Arnold Morris is known for marketing the well known Ginsu Knife. She began acting as a child, being discovered by manager Bill Perlman when she was just three years old. At the age of twelve, she sang at the White House for President Bill Clinton.
Ashley Tisdale's acting career started to take off when she was in her late teens, during the late nineties. She primarily worked as a television actress, but also had occasional film roles such as a small appearance in cult film favorite "Donnie Darko" and a voiceover part in the 1999 computer animated summer hit "A Bug's Life". The television shows that she appeared in tended to be dramatic / comedic shows aimed at a teenage audience; these included "7th Heaven", "Grounded for Life", "Charmed", "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "Boston Public". Ashley Tisdale's appearances in these shows tended to be small, but she eventually found some breakthrough success in her role as Maddie Fitzpatrick on "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody". This remains her best known role, and led to her being featured in numerous productions of the Disney Channel.
Recently, Ashley Tisdale has devoted more attention to developing a music career. As of early 2007, she has just recently released a debut album "Headstrong", which has sold about 64,000 copies and reached the top ten of the Billboard sales charts. The style of the album is said to be similar to nineties boy bands and pop acts like the Spice Girls. She continues to appear in Disney produced television shows and films, including a good deal of voiceover work for cartoons, and is heavily marketed by Disney.
