Anne Archer was born on August 25, 1947. She is an Academy Award nominated actress. She regular performs both in films and on television. She was born in Los Angeles, where she has spent a great deal of her life. Archer is the daughter of actress Marjorie Lord and of actor John Archer.
Archer's first major film role was in The All American Boy. In this film, she played opposite Job Voight. The film was released in 1970.
She left the motion picture world in the early 1980s and took up the stage. She appeared in a number of off Broadway productions during that time period.
A major boost in Archer's career occurred in 1987 when she was cast as the wife of Michael Douglas's character in Fatal Attraction. It was her role in this film that garnered her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In 1992, she played another major film role in Patriot Games.
Before her big break in Fatal Attraction, Archer actually was a finalist for the role of Lois Lane in Superman, a role that actually ended up going to Margot Kidder.
In recent times, Archer has frequently appeared on a number of different television shows. This included The L Word, The Ghost Whisperer and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Archer is the mother of four sons. She has been married twice, each marriage producing two sons. She currently is married to her second husband, who is Terry Jastrow. Archer is an active supporter of Planned Parenthood. In 1991, she made the fact that she had an abortion public. Archer is an active member of the sometimes controversial Church of Scientology.
