She was born October 6, 1970 in Cap Cod, Massachusettes, where her primary interest was competitive gymnastics. After reaching the highest levels of gymnastics achievement, she competed worldwide in all gymnastics events. However, she suffered an injury during her career that caused her to abandon her dream of competing in the Olympics.

It was in 1993 that she landed her role as Kimberly Ann Hart. After that, her career took sail with roles in Suzie Q, Killing Mr. Griffin, Perfect Body, and Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie. She also landed a role as a vampire in the indie film Cold Hearts, and afterward her part in Felicity. In Felicity, she played a character who sings and plays guitar, and this led her to discover her musical talents. One of the songs she wrote for the show became part of the soundtrack.

She tried to leave acting for music after the death of a costar in the Power Rangers movie.
