Following in her mother's footsteps, Amber began modeling at age fifteen. At first she started doing work locally and then by age sixteen she went to Paris and remained there for four years. Her international modeling eventually gave her a breakthrough when she dyed her hair red. Many thought she looked like Rita Hayworth and it lauched her into doing back to back issues of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, the first Esquire Vargas Girl and also the Wonderbra campaign as the first Wonderbra model.
