Whether you realize it or not, you love her...she pops up on the screen, you see her and you fall in love with her all over again. And every time you see her, you say, "I know her...what else was she in?"...and it drives you out of your mind until the credits when you get her name and fervently rush to the computer to try to look her up...only to fail. Her long, flowing hair, and rocking body-hey, she may be almost 60 years old, but the girl is still kicking it!-have made her a coveted figure in movies for her generation as well as the new pop generation.
Alicia first appeared on the big screen in 1958, making her debut in "Concurso de belleza." Following this film, she nearly dropped off the radar as far as major film credits go, making a name for herself in the modeling world instead, and over the next 30 years, Alicia spent most of her time appearing in commercials and fashion productions for magazines and advertising posters in Buenos Aires-Alicia received the bulk of her training for modeling and acting, as well as the bulk of her work, in Buenos Aires.
Alicia once again appeared to worldwide cinema audiences in the 1998 film, "Dance With Me," in which she played herself-although this was 40 years after her debut into film, Alicia was accepted with open arms and found herself fitting well into the young, pop crowd cast.
Alicia's most recent well-known credit came in 2004 for her role in "Cuidate de mi," and since then she has not met with any major film credits.
So whether you next see Alicia on a modeling poster in Buenos Aires or popping up in a film out of nowhere ten years from now, she has created her own mystery in her career, which is why she manages, in every decade to make heads turn and eyes squint for her name in the credits.
