Biography
No matter how odd and offbeat and unlike actors they may seem at times, everyone loves a soap opera girl. Alexa Havins has not only made a name and several hundred photograph opportunities for herself by using her body to sell a soap opera, but she has also used her incredible skills as an actress to transform from soap opera diva to silver screen phenomena throughout her career.

Although Alexa originally started out as a professional dancer, a talent at which she was more than agile and adept, Alexa also tried singing and eventually made the final move to acting, where she has made her permanent home and a string of incredibly quick and amazing decisions that have affected her life both on and off the screen.

Born Alexa Carole Havins on 16 November 1980, in Artesia, New Mexico, Alexa knew from an extremely young age that she wanted to be a performer, although it would take her years to decide her specialty. She eventually moved to New York City with the love and support of her family, after she was accepted to the prestigious (and really hard to get into) Circle in the Square Theater School.

Alexa's first big break came in 2005 when she landed a role in the film, "The Crow: Wicked Prayer." This was at the same time a fortunate and unfortunate break for Alexa. Just after filming had begun on the movie, Alexa was chosen as the newest cast member on the 35-year running daytime soap opera, All My Children. Scheduling conflicts between the two forced Alexa to decide whether she would be a soap star or a movie star. Alexa chose All My Children (probably due to that hunkalicious co-star of hers, Justin Bruening, who she ended up marrying on set and in real life-who'd want to give up kissing that for a dude in white paint?) and has yet to appear in leading roles on any of TV's or Hollywood's other projects, although she did briefly appear on an episode of FX's Rescue Me in 2006.

In 2005, Alexa was nominated for two awards, the Daytime Emmy "Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series" for All My Children and the Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Younger Lead Actress for All My Children. She lost both awards, in extreme despair and disappointment to fellow actor and All My Children co-star, Eden Riegel.

However, that same year, love blossomed and turned into a marriage, both on the show and in real life for Alexa. On the show, Alexa's character Babe falls in love with Jamie, played by Justin Bruening. On the same day Jamie proposed to Babe, Justin proposed to Alexa and the two were married in June 2005. The pair does not have children...yet.

Alexa Havins has made a place for herself, proving finally that the world is not so young and restless after all and that even if you act in a daytime soap you can still become very popular, if you are talented and beautiful!
