Born on 11 April 1981, in Erexim, Brazil, Alessandra Ambrosio showed an early keenness to become a model and started taking modelling lessons in her country. In 1996, she participated in the Elite Look of the Year contest and this paved way for her to win a contract with Elite Model Management agency.

When Guess? happened to Alessandra, she was elevated into the company of other well-known and successful models like Laetitia Casta, and Estelle Hallyday who had worked with Guess? as debutantes! But this leggy beauty is more than just a Guess? girl. She has also featured on the covers of magazines such as Harper's Bazaar (Spanish), Capricho, Desfile, Wallpaper, and Elle (Brazil). Alessandra has also shown off her body and style while walking the ramp for esteemed designers such as Issey Miyake, Kenzo, Laura Biagiotti, Byblos, Christian Lacroix, Fendi, Nicole Miller and Oscar de la Renta among many others.

After featuring for campaigns for Guess?, Alessandra's beauty prompted other big companies such as Revlon, Gap, Calvin Klien, and Giorgio Armani to sign her up for their advertisements as well. Alessandra is already associated with Victoria's Secrets and the webcast of the Cannes fashion show featured her in sexy and seductive lingerie.

Alessandra wants to pursue a University degree, despite her rising modelling career. And what does she do when not modelling? She loves to spend time with her boyfriend of 2.5 years, Jayson Lee, a model/club promoter. Despite their busy schedules, the two always make time to spend with each other and her favourite day is spent sand boarding with Jayson, the relaxing on the beach while listening to her favourite Brazilian singer Caetano Velozo and sipping on coconut water!

Now-a-days Alessandra is busy building a home in her native village in Brazil, and shuttling between her apartment in New York and the various ad shoot locations. Despite her high-flying lifestyle, she stills loves her birthplace the most.
