Soccer moms (and every other mom...and all women everywhere) dream of Alec Baldwin at night, making husbands everywhere desperately wish that they were tall, dark and handsome, too. Alec Baldwin is not only the quintessential film actor we have come to know and adore to the extreme, but he is also a well-respected and revered stage actor, who has won critical acclaim for his classic roles. Whether we love him strutting his stuff and pushing his attitude on-screen or on-stage is a difficult, although it's easy to guess that the soccer moms would rather see him live.

Aside from being a beloved film actor, Alec is one of only two people with a standing invitation to host the late-night comedy revue "Saturday Night Live" every year, helping them to shutout less worthy talent. In his spare time, Alec has also done voice-over work for children's cartoons and movies, like Thomas the Tank Engine, Cats & Dogs and SpongeBob Squarepants The Movie, as well as for commercials for companies like Subaru and General Electric.

Born Alexander Rae Baldwin II on 3 April 1958 in Massapequa, Long Island, New York, Alec was no stranger to fighting for the limelight against his three brothers, Stephen, William and Daniel, who are consequently still fighting each other, and Alec, for the spotlight today in the acting world, although Alec is arguably the most well-known, and the sexiest.

Alec first broke onto the big screen in 1987 (with a role in Forever, Lulu) after a string of successful and unsuccessful television roles. Over the next ten years, Alec enjoyed immense success with roles in popular movies like Beetle Juice (1988), The Hunt for Red October (1990) opposite Sean Connery, Miami Blues (1990), Ghosts of Mississippi (1996), Pearl Harbor (2001) and The Cooler (2003) for which he received an Oscar nomination for best actor. Alec has also enjoyed lesser roles in films like Along Came Polly (2004) opposite Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston, and The Departed (2006) opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg.

But Alec's skills do not end on television and the big screen. He has been revered for his performance as Stanley Kowalski in Tennessee Williams' stage play "A Streetcar Named Desire," and has also ventured into script writing, lending his services to the 1990 Tabloid episode of Law & Order by writing of his own experiences with being blinded and blindsided by the writers and photographers of tabloid news.

Alec was at one point married to actress Kim Basinger (who was also a vegetarian) and they had quite a large family: eleven dogs, seven cats and wolf to keep their home happy and hairy.
