Biography
Some say that those who can produce, and those who can't, write. So what happens when a guy like Alan Parker, a talented writer and stunning produce, comes along? Alan Parker is not only famous for both his adept acting skills as well as his magical pen, but since 2002, when he was added to the Queen's New Year's Honours List, been known fondly among the English court as Sir Alan Parker. It's difficult to decide whether we prefer him as a regal, thought and smile-provoking member of the court or crafter of death and depression.

Aside from being one of the most talented film writers of his time, Alan has also managed to touch the realm of Hollywood with his song writing and ad marketing skills. He spends every spare moment he has engaging his sons in the creative process, something that has turned out not only to be educational, but also professionally fruitful for Alan.

Alan may have appeared in the feature films industry in an odd flash of lightning, but it is no secret that he has been wowing the crowds all over the world with his thought-provoking and tear-jerking dramas, even though he does seem incredibly obsessed with the pain and suffering that comes with death.

Born Alan William Parker on the 14 February 1944 in Islington, London, Alan's birth on the raucous romantic holiday obviously taught him at very young age to skip the romanticism and go straight for the barrel of realism.

The support of the Collet Dickinson Pearce ad agency was responsible for the growth and development of Alan's love for television and television production and writing. He began writing and producing his own television scripts in the basement of the agency in the early 1970s and later left Collet Dickinson Pearce to film television commercials and later, feature films.

Alan had his first big break as a Hollywood producer with Midnight Express, the film that both brought him and Oliver Stone together in collaboration and also tore them apart. Alan followed Midnight Express with several other hit films, such as Pink Floyd The Wall (1982), Mississippi Burning (1988), Evita (1996), Angela's Ashes (1999) and the Life of David Gale (2003), for which his sons helped him to compose the score.

Among some of Alan's traits that are more peculiar is his insistence that he write the press kit announcements for the advance screenings of all of his movies by himself. Alan has been writing up this information for journalists and other media members since 1981.

Alan has four children, two sons, and two daughters, from his first marriage to Annie Inglis that lasted from 1966-1992, when they divorced. Alan is presently marked to Lisa Moran.

So whether you "hate" to be depressed and see people die or relish in it (like some...people...do), Alan Parker is the producer and script writer you've been waiting for and in love with all of your life...and no matter how much he fears it, no one will ever tap him on the shoulder and say "Back to North London."
