Biography
Looking back on the 50s and 60s, women everywhere will swoon over the good looks of James Dean...overlooking his French, and equally as sexy counterpart, Alain Delon. Alain Delon is not only one of the world's most beloved actors, but also one of the most revered writers and directors of his time, as well as an international man of mystery and a renaissance man.

Aside from stunning good looks, Alain has all of the necessary skills and talents that have turned him into a coveted writer, director, actor, producer and business owner. Whenever Alain is not on the screen or behind it, he is wiling away the time near his restaurant, Camargue in Nice, France, developing his perfume "AD" or running his designer clothing line "Alain Delon Diffusion SA." Not only that, but he can ride a horse too...Alain has won a world championship as a racing horse jockey but this man is no ordinary jockey; he is one tall, dark and handsome bad boy that's sure to make weekend shoppers, credit card companies and bookies alike swoon every time he walks on set.

Born on 8 November 1935 in Sceaux Seine, France to Fabien and Edith Delon, Alain was a troubled child (the product of broken home) and was expelled from six different schools during his childhood, making him the perfect candidate to play the star-crossed lover boys as well as the big bad boys.

Throughout the early to mid-50s, Alain held a number of jobs, including waiter, salesman and porter in the Les Halles market, as well as being a Marine parachutist during the French campaign in Indochina.

But in 1957, Alain, who had no professional acting experience (trivia: he has this in common with most actors) received his big break into the acting world with a role in "Quand la femmes s'en mele," followed by huge success with his leading roll in "Plein Soleil." Throughout his career, Alain played both bad boys and lover boys, although he preferred the bad boys, tapping into his youthful, troublesome roots. Over the next five years, Alain played lead roles as dumb luck lovers and bad boys galore. In late 1964, he formed the Delbeau Productions film company and began producing films for such stars as Guy Gilles.

Alain's career nearly bit the dust in 1968, when he was accused of involvement with murders, drugs, and sex scandals. He vehemently denied all charges and was eventually cleared of these charges. Alain then founded the Adel Film company in 1969, as if one wasn't enough.

Although Alain has won a great deal of notoriety perhaps some of the most memorable moments of his career include his role as the whip-brandishing, hi-ho-silvering, black-mask-wearing, delicious defender of freedom, Don Diego in the USA release of "Zorro." Alain has also been immortalized in rock music, on album covers, and a as a hand puppet in a French puppet show.

Alain is married to Rosalie Van Breeman-Delon (former model, Dutch aristocrat, Miss Holland 1986 turned homemaker of the rich and famous) and has three children: Anouchka Alain Fabien, and Anthony.
